A few days late
Thanksgiving is days away now, but not forgotten.

Jiggliusceasar and I went up to Maine to visit my parents (I had neither the time or the energy to deal with Thanksgiving on my own this year.). My grammies were there as was Bob (uninterested and uninteresting husband of GrammieD). GrammieC is a bit on the mobility impaired side right now. She has recently had a surgery for her hip. GrammieD is in remission I believe from cancer. When she was first diagnosed we were told it was Pancreatic cancer, but remission is fairly rare from what I have been told, so I don't know what to think. She is better for the moment.

We had dinner around 1330 and people liked the cornbread stuffing (the balls weren't such a big hit, because they needed a little more attention when I reheated them). Mom made sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, and blue hubbard squash, so I was well supplied with orange potato-like foods.

The drive up to Maine took longer than the drive home, though we took a brief detour onto Spec Pond Road.

Friday I went to the gym and burned off a respectable number of calories (I am up to 14 pounds of weight loss having just passed the 190 lb barrier this week!), and met jiggliusceasar for lunch. We went to Quincy Market, not the brightest thing either of us did, and eventually got to the Diangelos on Canal Street (thank gods for previous work at Sidewalk.com). Subs were had, and we walked back to Haymarket in the rain - he went to work and I went home. I pseudowrapped a present and that is about it.

Yesterday was my weekly walk with Enochs_fable. We usually take this loop from Davis Square up the bike path till we hit the Carberry's (? I think that is the name) in Arlington and then we loop back. Not sure of the mileage, but the first time I wasn't really dressed for it and it took forever. Since then it is less than 1.5 hours. Then we usually have Starbucks, and this time we had brunch. Three large blueberry pancakes later it was time for a nap.

My right foot has hurt since yesterday. Jigglius thinks he can detect something like a bone spur - I can feel a lump, probably bony, because well, my feet are definitely bony. So, I will make my workouts less physical over the next week (if it continues to hurt - though I didn't notice anything going up the stairs this morning with large basket of laundry) and if it hurts next weekend I will call my doctor and use more of my MedCap!

Last night I bought supplies for more gifts (I actually braved the crowds on Friday in Downtown Crossing - something I only did because I was there anyway.), and so I have a few more plans underway.

Today has been pretty mellow so far. Some computer Boggle and the folding and carrying up of the last of our laundry. Now I want to play silly game, clean part of the living room, and work on the Parent Bribe™.

Feeling like: mellowmellow

I often find that is the way of things.

If your foot continues to hurt, do get it looked at!
What is MedCap?

It is a flexible spending program for medical/dental/vision-related care. I signed up at the beginning of the year for $700, or about $26 out of each paycheck. I pay for my medical care and then send them the receipts and get reimbursed.

Of course, now that I have insurance, this is a bit more than I need, so I am getting reimbursed for my prescriptions too.
