My Starbucks Saga
So, I had to come in early for work. That being the case, I usually get coffee from Starbucks, a habit which tends to be a little high in calories. The barista there is really friendly and cool, and we usually talk for a few minutes while I am getting my coffee. I have been ordering all of my coffees non-fat, and she suggested that I try sugar free as well if I am working on cutting calories.

Today I had a non-fat, sugar free caramel macchiato. She added a shot of sugar free vanilla syrup for a touch of added sweetness, and I was golden. It was tasty and the only sugar in the drink was then the milk and the caramel. ^_^;

That is one way to make my drinks better for me, though I should start making some progress on my water and my breakfast.

Feeling like: thirstythirsty

Let me guess, not enough water or breakfast?

Nah, just too busy to eat/drink. The coffee was just a tall, so it was easy to finish. ^_^;

But going through 32 ounces of water takes more work.

Maybe you need to buy some coffee-flavoring?

Would it be silly for me to ask why "tall" is the smallest amount of beverage one can obtain? I suppose it's not much different than pizza places where you can't order a small (or even a medium) - although we did get small pizzas last week! - but it seems silly.

I used to work for Starbucks, and here is what they told me: If they called it a "small", people would complain about how much they were paying for a small coffee. If they call it a "tall", and make it a little bigger (I think it's 12 ounces) people complain less. (You actually can order a "short" at Starbucks, it's just not on the menu because people don't usually ask for it.)

Mmmm, Starbucks...it took me a while, but I have finally gotten to the point where I can drink lattes without sugar. My next objective: get used to half-decaf. :)
