Insomnia (and the summer)
I should have installed the ac last night, or at least turned on the fan.

I finished reading Which Witch at around 2330 and tried to go to sleep. I kept on tossing and turning and couldn't find a comfortable spot for my head with either of my pillows. I kept on looking at the clock, squinting to see what the time was. Eventually, I got frustrated and put my glasses on. Knowing how long I had been trying to get to sleep wasn't much of a soporific, so around 0100 I decided to get up at at least go to the bathroom and putter around the living room. Heck, maybe I needed a change of venue to get some sleep.

No such luck.

At 0130 I decide that if I am going to be stuck awake, I might as well do something. So, I looked at my collection of projects and started working on Summer in My Garden. Now, this is a big, moderately complex, project, but usually pretty soothing. Ooops. Well, it becomes less soothing (though I didn't get upset much) when you realize that you skipped 3 rows so the skirt you are working on is both a bit shorter and a bit thinner. Ooops again. But I was able to figure out a workaround that while not elegant does manage to make me feel OK. (and the mistake would have involved taking out 5 different colors and about 4 vertical inches of stitching).

So, I am still up. I have done over 3 hours of cross-stitch, taken a shower, and am now finally getting sleepy near 0630. Work is going to be exciting today.

(and the reason I am typing this is simple. It is getting hard to stay awake and stitch.)

Doh, and yes, the reason for the subject - it is summer and over 70 degrees Fahrenheit, which explains my insomnia for forgetting to put on a fan. [I wonder how coherent this entry is.]

But doesn't getting sleepy = good? :)

We're soon to look for a 10,000 BTU unit to cool our living room/dining room. Problem is, there's no friggin' outlet on that wall. Extension cord heaven. I wonder if we can get the landlord to put in another outlet?

Umm, yesterday I didn't get sleepy until 0630. I usually leave for work by 0730, so not terribly useful.

But on a brighter note, I was asleep by 2300 last night and got just over 6 hours of sleep.
