The gym
Well, I am not going to the gym today. Between interesting costume things (which I am not doing at work) and makeup, I do not want to see the ruination. So, I am going to go home tonight, make cookies or something, and dye my hair (same color, but boy has this faded).

Yesterday, I went to the gym in the morning, doing cardio and a lot of crunches. Then I arranged to start work early so I could go to a gym class at 1330.

Pilates. (apparently pronounced pih-lah-tees) It is supposed to be about using your body, your core muscles, and strengthening and stretching. Sort of a dance yoga in some aspects.

It hurts. I can do crunches without much concern, though after I hit the 150 mark I might notice it the next day. However, this involved a lot of holding your shoulders off the mat while moving your legs in slow small circles (at either the ceiling or 45 degree angle). After 20 minutes, I was sore. I didn't finish each exercise. Sometimes I would take a 10 to 15 second break before starting again. But when I was done, I could tell the difference in my posture (which lasted for most of two or three hours). And today I can tell. When I stretch up to reach something or to take something heavy off a shelf I can feel it in the sides of my abs.

This is such a good thing!

Pilates is freaking hard! If you can do even a little bit, though, it makes a big difference. (As you already noticed.)

Good luck! You're inspiring me to get off my butt and exercise too. :-)

Heck, if you were closer by I would love to go walk with you (same deal as with enoch - walk/jog for 2 hours on a Sat/Sun morning usually).

Ruddigore is sucking up all of my exercise time - and it is starting to cut into my eating time too! @_@

And what about your jiggliusceasar time?!

Actually, if your gym has a guest policy, I wouldn't mind joining you once in a while (although after work is better for me than before).

But I can't run more than 360 feet at a time, so that's right out.

I believe it does. I just don't remember right off the top of my head what it is. I won't go any time other than mornings or lunches until the show is over, but after that we can both go to the gym. ^_^;

Well, the gym does allow me to bring a guest. I am not sure how many times, but I just have to come with you and you can fill out a form (and well, bring ID, but that is what your wallet is for anyway. ^_^;) If you want, we can find time for that sometime in the next few weeks.
