Personal trivia meme
Stolen from lots of people (I-am-sure-you-will-get-tired-of-seeing-this-meme meme)

I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes spinach."

I'd love it if every person who friended me would do this. Yes, even those I know really well. Then post this in your own journal, if you feel like it.

Tell me something you think I don't already know. I'm curious.
Feeling like: meme-ity

I'm allergic to cats and dogs.

I make sekrit presents for people and leave them on their doorsteps. Usually it involves cookies. (Valentine's Day and Halloween are my two big target holidays, although I plan to spring a few surprises this Christmas...)

Hmmm, something you don't know. That's the tough part. It's not like I don't see you every day.

I was a card carrying member of the Boy Scouts for 4 years.

When I was about 2 years old, I refused to answer to my own name; I would only answer to "Snow White."

I was in the Boy Scouts, but not as long as meranthi. But I has more arrow points than anyone in my pack in Cub Scouts!

And my first roleplaying experience was actually in sixth grade, in (eep!) 1990 - before I had even heard of Dungeons and Dragons. But it was my own system, based off video games, and the rules were sketchy at best. Dice were replaced by the whims of the DM (me). The maps and stats may still be in my parents' house.

And I need to practice making icons for you.

I had a boyfriend before Rick! His name was Gabe, we went out for 2ish months and he broke up with me the night before my 16th birthday. We never did more than hold hands for about a minute. He was a year older than me.

How about something non-Rick related? I went to a Baptist kindergarten in Florida.

When I was three my dad encouraged me to kiss Mary Jane Wright [age four] so that he could capture it on a home movie. She didn't like the idea and ran away after the kiss. Years later, after a great deal of ribbing from my siblings on repeated showings of this film, I took a pair of scissors and cut the eight millimeter film down the middle of all fifty feet on the spool, and threw the halves in separate waste baskets.

I could read well before I entered kindergarten. Unfortunately, I had "lazy eye" that my opthamologist was trying to treat then with an eyepatch. I hated it but my parents insisted. Since I couldn't see the TV with the patch on, I would grab a book and a flashlight, then go crawl behind our upright piano and peel back the patch and read.

Hmm. Something you don't already know... :ponders: That I got all the way to Senior Girl Scout before I gave up my Scouting career, and only camped out once (in the whole putting-up-my-own-tent, cooking-over-a-fire sense). Never did learn any nifty knots, either. Disappointing, that.

Hmmm... One of my ancestors was a privateer for Charles I. He captured Quebec from the French. But when he got back to England he discovered Charles had made peace with France & married a French princess, and all his effort had been wasted: Charles confiscated his booty and gave Quebec back to France. Nevertheless, my ancestor stayed loyal to Charles in the English Civil War.

A friend of a friend was once convinced that I had to be gay because "[I] was caring and nurturing." This despite being in a long-distance relationship at the time with a women - I think she thought she was imaginary. She made a bet with my friend, and later changed her mind, claiming that's not what she meant, only that I "might" be gay.

Heh. I just wondered what jerks she was dating.
