What strange dichotomies exist in the human brain when it is simultaneously perfectly fine to eat a healthy dinner and follow that up with baking a cake.

(I made an orange cake with a raspberry honey glaze. Why? Because I wanted to make something, and this one didn't involve chocolate.)
Feeling like: quixoticquixotic

Ooo. Cake sounds yummy. Is this an angel-food-cake type thing? I've seen a recipe someplace for an angel food cake flavored with orange-flower water that sounded interesting.

This is a modification of a Presto! chocolate cake from one of my moosewood cookbooks. Instead of 1/3 cup of cocoa, I increased the amount of flower. I added orange extract to the water used in the recipe and I added candied orange peel (which for some reason I have on hand). The glaze was about 2 tablespoons of honey and milk with about a 1/4 to a 1/3 cup of raspberry preserves poured over the cake while still in the pan. Came out pretty nice, a little sticky sweet and moist (mostly because of the glaze).

No, you did it because you didn't want me within 20 feet of the kitchen except to get a drink from the fridge.

And rightfully so.
