Romeo and Juliet at the Shubert!
A free staged reading at the Wang on Thursday, April 14th. Performed by a variety of lawyers, judges and other public officials (sounds neat to me). More info behind the cut.

Come hear a star-studded cast of public officials, judges, prosecutors and defense attorneys in a staged reading of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, the fifth in a series "Shakespeare and the Law", co-created by the Boston Lawyers Chapter of The Federalist Society and Commonwealth Shakespeare Company.

Thursday, April 14, 2005
The Shubert Theatre
265 Tremont Street

Directed by The Wang Center's Steven Maler, the cast includes Lt. Governor Kerry Healey as Juliet; State Senator Jarrett Barrios as Romeo; U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan as the Prince, and Middlesex County District Attorney, Martha Coakley as the Nurse.

Also reading will be United States Civil Rights Commissioner Jennifer C. Braceras; Supreme Judicial Court Justice Martha Sosman; Massachusetts Appeals Court Justices David Mills and Janis Berry; Superior Court Judges Paul Chernoff and Isaac Borenstein; Land Court Judge Alexander H. Sands III; Attorneys Harvey Silverglate, J.W. Carney, Jr., Leonard Lewin, Daniel Kelly and David Yas.

A discussion with the cast and audience follows, examining Shakespeare's study of street crime and gang violence, and efforts by elected officials, law enforcement and the courts to address these issues in the Commonwealth today.
