Gaming last night

I am taking a little break from shelving books (over half way done them and onto RIA for today, w00t!).

Those that read Bostongamers will have seen C-kun's rant about the railroaded game (combat with 6 party members already weakened/low on spells/etc. against 14 orcs). We had the session last night to shorten the amount of time between sessions.

Last night was fun, but commuting from Watertown at any time of day or night is annoying.

Going home

Well, the work day is done. I just logged my out time in Kronos (the time management system here at BM), and now I can leave to my abode.

I have a lot of things I need to do when I get there. Mostly dishes, cleaning, and some food prep things like making croutons and finalizing my grocery list for this evening.

I am putting it off not because it isn't nice out or because I have this amazing love of this office (though I like my work and all), but out of habit. I think that I stay late at many jobs because of the desire to finish what I start (in this case I ran about three minutes over, which is no big deal) and inertia.

I can sit at my desk or stay in the stacks at the library for hours, just plugging away at my projects. Before I know it, I have been there for 30 minutes later than I am supposed to be. As it is, I will be leaving about 30 minutes late today because I decided to update my journal here after I finished working rather than wait till I can connect at home.

And remember kids (from the guy doing "Science Circus" at the MoS on Sunday):
And object at rest tends to stay in motion... *grr*

When life is good

I found the recipe I used two years ago for the eggnog pie. I just typed what I was looking for into google and went through about 8 pages of links before I found the exact recipe I used.

My grocery list is done, and my list of what to make when is also done. Per normal, there is only so much that can really be made before. However, the things that I am making the day of are a number of "make early and then bake whenever" and crockpot-ables.

I am pleased. There will be tasty things to eat and not all of them will require Tim to break out immense amounts of Lactaid (and frankly, anything that can be made with Lactaid milk that doesn't include heavy cream or whipping cream will be made that way).

I feel like I am ready for anything!
