Two more days

Life is good here. I am going to buy my bus ticket home this afternoon. Then I will come home, find and finish my letter to my mom, and finish prepping for game tonight.

I made minestrone soup sans pasta. Two small containers with chicken (critter soup version) in it and one really large tupperware with just veggies. I get to carry this and C-kun's cupcakes over to the game. Luckily, I won't be carrying anything but food because C-kun is bringing my character sheet (already in his bag).

So, this afternoon I will check my email, cook a lot of wheel shaped pasta, and finish my letter to my mom and post it.

My mom is only getting a letter from me now because my ransom note to her resulted in me getting two letters (I had sent her a care package in October and had been waiting for a letter back).

Yeah, life is good. (and meranthi rocks for replacing my nasty damaged copy of LotR, so I can finish reading the things that happen in a totally different way in the book than in movie etc.).

And life is good

I am leaving December 31st for four fun filled days in the wilds of Maine.

Umm, yeah, fun filled. I have my bus ticket, and I have the stuff prepped for game (except the pasta, which I still need to cook). I even managed to make R-chan's Christmas present, peppered peanut brittle.

It was a first time with the recipe. I don't normally guineau pig so much, but this time it is for a guineau pig sort of guy. It called for red pepper (which it was unclear from the recipe if they meant cayenne or red pepper), so I put in habanero. Heck, R-kun is as bad as I am, so an eighth of a teaspoon won't kill him.

And I am mostly packed for lots of fun tonight. Gaming. Becoming less unconscious. And then calling stores tomorrow to see if some of the present items are done or not.

Yes, indeed. Life is good.

Ignoring Work (or what I did today)

I feel nice and productive. I did a tiny bit of dishes (because I needed a clean pot for the peanut brittle and then later the same pot for pasta).

I now have minestrone soup both with and without chicken (and it is a really large batch of soup, so I will be doing more dishes tonight just to be able to put it all in the fridge and what not).

I made peanut brittle (as per that other post).

I sent out three queries. Two for online publications and a third for an offsite copy editor. Between this and the one I sent out on Friday of last week, I am finally getting to the point of enough queries out in a week.

I have a checklist of articles/stories I have been working on that I need to finish over the next two weeks.

Yeah, productive.
