The Godiva Report
After depositing paycheck number two for the week, I made my way to the Cambridgeside Galleria to explore Godiva's Holiday Collection. They have four flavors of truffles this year: candy cane, chocolate soufle, marzipan, and cinnamon pear. When I went they were offering free chocolate soufle truffles for sampling and egg nog coffee to drink.

The chocolate soufle truffle is everything one would expect from Godiva. Rich, decadent, and somewhere closer to milk chocolate than dark on the chocolatey-goodness spectrum, it is a delight from the first bite to licking your fingers off.

The egg nog coffee (if you like either egg nog or coffee, but preferably both) is strongly flavored. It doesn't just smell like egg nog, but actually manages to taste like egg nog with fewer of the bitter coffee tones than normal.

After all of that, I decided I wanted real coffee goodness, and so I went to Starbucks (I was in the Galleria, so going to Diesel was not an option) where they had gingerbread lattes with whipped cream. The gingerbread syrup is strong and both flavored and scented the drink from the first taste of milky foam to the last drop of coffee. It is a little odd with the coffee undertones, but not overly so. Definitely worth having.

And now back to your regularly scheduled program.
