Umm, yeah, I am really behind on this.

About two weeks ago, I finished a novella called Santa and Pete by Christopher Moore. It was a humorous and uplifting tale told while a bus was stuck during a blizzard about Saint Nicholas and Piet, a young African living and working in Seville, Spain. While it does range a bit into the spiritual side and touches on the religious (because it is, indeed, a Christmas tale), it is more about morality, eye for an eye, and helping others from the goodness of your heart.

A nice quick read, and something that I could see reading to children when the holiday approaches.

Before that, I finished By the River Piedra I sat down and wept by Paulo Coelho. I picked this up because the Alchemist was checked out, and I wanted to see what this writer was like. Another tale of a spiritual journey. I started to think of gaming and other things (which I will expand upon later). It is how we only have true faith and love when we think and act as children, and how embracing that as adults allows our lives to have greater meaning. (There are obviously more layers than that, but it is what I remember right now.)
